A Review (Finally!): Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula; Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes

Hey all!

About time for a review hey?

Well last year I got sent a box from PR filled with goodies from Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula, and I will be giving some of that away in a 50 follower gift pack....when I get there and if they are in good condition still....I'm only halfway there!

But I fell upon some wipes they sent me when I was cleaning out my makeup drawers and decided "Hey! Lets do a review on these!" Cause I personally have never seen these in Priceline or other stores. (Mainly Priceline, I live in the damn store.) So lets get on with it!

The Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes, Which I'm going to call wipes from here on out (I'm just lazy) have a texture to them, meaning they aren't just flat. they have little bumps on them. I didnt get a picture of them because i didn't want to waste a wipe, but they do have bumps on them.

The wipes are insanely moisturising. Which is a good thing as when I remove my makeup, my face feels dull and dry and I need to, well, moisturise my face.

It also claims to remove waterproof mascara, and I have tested this and I can say its certainly true but you need to scrub a bit at first for it to start the removal process.

The packet contains 25 wipes and retails for $7.94 (iHerb.com) Which I personally think it needs to contain more, as I would use up to 3 wipes to fully remove my makeup.

It claims to have a 'Fresh White Lilly' Fragrance, But I cannot smell any scent at all.

It contains cocoa butter (duh) and Chamomile.

Its made for sensitive skin - I have oily/combination and it works fine for me.

Its alcohol and paraben free.

It contains Vitamin E - Sorry for those who are Allergic!

And like all Palmer's products - it isn't tested on animals (Wow I spelled Animals as Amils. Well done Brontie you need sleep.)

Overall, would I repurchase? If on special, maybe. I can be fussy with my wipes.

I hope you all enjoyed this review!! Working on more as we speak!

Review: Palmer's Cocoa Butter; Massage Lotion for Stretchmarks.

Hey Beauties,

So. Ever since I began turning into a teen, I got stretchmarks.

It never really phased me until this year when I was on a med that I had a major reaction to, and I got stretchmarks almost everywhere. Including my breasts, from my shoulders, to elbow on each arm, my waist all over my butt, down my thighs, all the way past my knee. I hate it that much that I have pretty much changed my entire wardrobe to covered clothes.

Due to this I lost a whole lot of confidence. I began to use some Bio Oil. And I finished an entire bottle of that, and noticed 0 results. I was very annoyed by this seeing as Bio Oil is a very raved about product and I was expecting to see some results. Mum then gave me some of this Stretchmark lotion by Palmer's Cocoa Butter. And my God. I haven't looked back.

Not only does this product smell fan-fucking-tastic, I have noticed a difference. My marks are slowly, beginning to fade. And I'm beginning to get some confidence back. It probably too around 3 months to start noticing major results, but since using the first bottle I have bought another one. Then not long after buying that bottle, I was contacted by Palmer's to try a bunch of their products, so I have a ton of things to review for you all.

If you want to see a photo of my stretchmarks, check out my instagram where I have posted an image of them. (I have been inactive there due to personal reasons)

I would 100% reccomend this to anyone.

I wasn't paid to review this, though, I have been sent products by the company to try for free. Product shown in image above was bought with my own money.

Bellabox: May Unboxing

Hey Beauties,

So this month I feel as if the Bellabox team stepped it up just a little bit. They still have a long way to go to meet my subscription standards, but, I was pretty happy with the outcome of this box.

Miracle Rejuvination Mask - Yup I mispelled a word. But I'm too lazy to fix that so lets ignore that. But I'm not going to use this. Its for dry irratable (another spelling mistake. Lazy Brontie is Lazy) skin, and I have oily skin, which has been pretty good lately, I've hardly been breaking out. (Ooooh I should do a skin routine post.) and its a sheet mask. And these don't....these scare me. I don't know why, but it does. But my Mum is keen to use this so.

The same bar of soap I got in Lust Have It! Not going to go into detail as I did in the previous post. So. Go check that out.

The good ol' Chapstick. My best friend has been raving about buying a new one recently, so I'm going to give this to her for her birthday (along with other things. Gee, I'm not that rude.)

wen. This stuff is pretty cool. Mum used to be subscribed to them, but no longer is. It is basically a conditioner shampoo? So its really thick, and you layer your hair with it, let it soak in for about 5 minutes, then rinse it out. And it smells lovely too. Don't know when I'd use this as we have tons of it at home so.

Invisible Zinc. Eh. Its Zinc. Its good. (Kinda. I live near the Zinc works and the shit stinks) so its always good to have some lying around.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel. I was so excited for this. I'd never expect a product by her to be in a box. Ever. Let alone BB. So I was just all like 'weeeee' when I got it.

Thats all I got. I was mainly excited for the brow gel. But the box was pretty good. I am SO over samples though, good lord. I need to start using them.

BH Cosmetics Party Girl Palette Review

Hey Beauties,

So I've had a lot of fun recently playing around with my new toy.

Isn't it pretty!

I recently bought this off Beauty Joint and I do not regret it. This palette is perfection.

It has a great range of shades ranging from bright to dark to natural, all with different finishes. Some are shimmery, some have a pearl finish, a few of them are matte, and there is even some metallic finish ones too.

The pigmentation on these shadows are pretty great too. The first colour I swatched was that delightful matte yellow there, and it just glided on so smoothly.

I'd say with these shadows you don't need a base, but like I said in my tutorial (Below) it works better with a base, as without, the shadows just mooshed together and didn't look as nice.

As you can see from this image there are a lot of non bright shades so the palette is perfect for a day to night look. The only thing I don't like is that the pale 'browbone' colour is shimmery. You may like it shimmery, but I prefer it to be matte.

Although this palette has a lot of shades similar in colour, its easy to create different looks with them.

The palette had no fall out when I used it, which was pretty impressive, and it came off easily and cleanly.

I absolutley love the range of shadows in this palette.

I think this palette is perfect. Although, I wish the colour range expanded wider, but I will probably buy another BH Palette in the near future.

The only downfall of this palette is although it is very slim, its not that great for travelling because its quite big. But if you have a huge make up bag, go for it.

All swatches shown above were done with NO primer.

*All thoughts on this product were my personal opinions, BH did NOT ask me to review this product, nor do they know who the hell I am.....Hi BH if you read this :P

Bellabox Unboxing: April 2014

Hi Beauties,

So my Bellabox arrived last week, but I've only just got around to posting about it.

This months box in my opinion was a bit 'meh'. It was okay, but, could've been better.

I'm only using 3 of the things that came in this months box, so only half of it is going to use.

Heres what I got!

Dirty Works Hand Cream:

I swear you can get this in Coles now, am I right? I don't know but the name seems familiar. But I'm keen to give this a try. I've got so many hand creams though (Like 7) that I haven't even finished yet. Not even half empty yet. But I'll get to this eventually. Probably in like 2 years xD

Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream:

When Laura did my nails a few months back she said that I had really bad cuticles, and to be honest, I don't know how to care for them. So I'll give this a go, and if I like it I may buy the full size. By the way, this shit smells amazing.

Indio Moisturiser and Eye Pore Eraser Thingy:

Ignore the title I forgot what the other item was called. But the pore eraser, I didn't really need, so I gave that to Mum and she seemed pretty excited about it - By the way, in 3 weeks time, every Wednesday post I will be questioning my Mum about some anti ageing products and other products she uses. She asked me if she could be featured on the blog because she had things she wanted to share with you about and I thought it was a great idea!

The moisturiser is a clear one? So I don't really know what that will be like. But I might take it away with me and use it with my BB Cream to help blend because its small.

Red Earth Lipgloss 05:

This....isn't my colour. I don't wear reds, hardly ever. So I've put this in my giveaway draw.

I also got a sample of Revlon's Nearly Naked, which I tried a sample of in Cleo last year and I quite liked it. But its not as full coverage as I'd like it to be. I'll probably use it.

I know that some people got the new Avon Mascara instead of the lipgloss. I kinda wish I got that. But whatever.

Wasn't really happy with this box.

Come on BB Team, step it up!!

I am slowly beginning to think of un-subscribing to Bellabox because I haven't been wowed by their boxes recently. Last month I didn't use a THING. I'll give them 4 more months before I renew my sub to step it up otherwise I'm not going to be a member anymore.

March Haul + Short Update

Hey Beauties,

Firstly lets get these updates out of the way. I have 3 things to tell you:

First off: My first youtube video has gone live! Check it out here! and make sure you subscribe!

Second of all: There will be no March Favourites this month due to me not really 'liking' anything. Only one or two things.

Third: I apologise for the lack of posting this month! I've been stressed, tired, depressed, and just over everything. Next month I am planning to post every single day - Atleast! Any blog post ideas?

Now lets get right into the haul!

I went to Target twice. The first time I picked up the Essence Tribal Summer Pigment in Copper Earth and holy crap, this pigment is amazing! I have a review of this coming in April, so I'm not going to go into too much detail, but I can say, for an essence product, it is highly pigmented! On the second trip there they had a bunch of their clearance items even cheaper. So I bought the I Love...Strawberries and Milkshake Hand Cream - This reminds me of the smell of some kind of medication. Its sweet and creamy, SO GOOD. I also bought the Loreal Infallible Pressed Eyeshadow *Colour name forgotten* after hearing Lauren Curtis rave about these and I totally agree, these are incredible. Review coming on Monday. And finally, Rimmel was, I think 30 or 40 percent off? I can't remember as this was almost 2 weeks ago. But I picked up the Rimmel Finishing Touch Glitter Top Coat as I had been eyeing this off for quite some time now, and I really love this and it does help your polish to last longer.

Mum went to Woolworths to do some grocery shopping, and she found these babies on clearance for $1 each. So Mum being Mum bought EVERY nail polish left. Don't blame her though, they will be good for gifts and stuff! I cannot remember each of their names though but I do know that the white one is White Out.

Did you get anything good this month?

BellaBox March Unboxing

Hey Beauties,

So I awoke this morning to my BellaBox, and first thing I realised is that is was here, reasonably early. I got my tracking number last Thursday (Or Friday, Can't remember which one) and on most occasions it takes 4-5 working days for it to arrive. So for it to arrive today was pretty early. 3 working days, I'm happy with that, considering it comes from Melbourne!

Second thing I noticed, the new box packaging! Isn't it so adorable?! I love it! Its sturdy like the old boxes, so I will for sure be re-using this somehow, and I will probably decorate it too, maybe. But its got the signiture Bellabox, Tiffany Blue colour (No they are not ripping them off) along with the brand new 'bb' logo, surrounded by dots. This design is only on the lid, the other part of the box is just blue. I love it!

Now for what came inside this months box...
St Tropez Med/Dark Gradual Tan Lotion. Sample:
I've heard Shaaanxo rave about how good St Tropez (Pronounced Tro-Pay) is, and I'm pretty keen to use this. However, I do not tan, I personally don't like it, and I'm quite happy being a pale person. I do however use a makeup body cover-up to cover my stretchmarks, so I may use this one day instead of that? I don't know. But this sample is only good enough for one use in my opinion as it isn't very big. The retail price for any St Tropez product is pretty pricey, but if you are one for tanning then I'd highly suggest getting it because Shannon looks great with her tan.

Natralus Paw Paw Pure Gel - Sample:
I'm interested in using this as it says it smoothes damaged skin, and I just wonder if it can be used on stretchmarks. I'll give it a go, but I know I won't notice any difference as I have a large variety of stretchmarks and this small package probably won't cover my entire area.

Dermalogica Clear Start Breakout Clearer - Sample:
I love getting Dermalogica or Bioderma products in my box, and this one I will certainly use. I don't know when though, as my Mum just purchased me some Benzac AC today and I kinda want to use that first. But I might use this of the morning before I apply my makeup?

WotNot Facial Wipes for Oily/Combination Skin - Sample:
I got some of these wipes a few boxes back and I LOVED them. So I was so happy to get some more. So I will for sure be using these!

Pantene Aqua Light Shampoo/Conditioner - Samples:
Eh. My hair has been hating me lately. I have a dry scalp. A very dry scalp. This range of products is made for people with FINE hair. And hair that doesn't need MUCH PRODUCT. So I will not be using this. This is going into my 'Endless Stock Of Hair Products' Drawer.

Model Co. Creamy Matte Lipstick - Full Size:
I've forgotten the name of this product already, but its a gorgeous coral, red toned lipstick. It is really stunning, but unfortunatley it is not for me. I do not see myself wearing this, reds and corals aren't my colour of lip choice, I hardly wear them. But my Mum loves it so I gave it to her.

So that was everything in this months box. Overall it was -okay-. Not great just okay. There was nothing in here that wowed me apart from the wipes.

Did you get anything different in your bellabox?

*Bellabox did not pay, or ask me to do this review. All opinions are 100% honest*

Australis Velourlips Review and Tutorial!

Hey Beauties,

So yes, I'm a little late on the bandwagon for this particular item, but I've only just recently gotten around to using it. And you'll have to wait until the end of this post to see my opinion on it!

So heres a few pointers as to what this product is. I have done some research on it to learn abit about it, so, yeah!

  • The item, is obviously, Australis' Velourlips. Which is their own range of Matte Lip Creams.
  • The Velourlips comes in 5 shades; Mal-I-Boo (Pink), Tok-I-O (Purple), NY-CEE (Red) Par-EE (Nude) and Rio-D (Coral)
  • The hardest shade to find is NY-Cee
  • Is Vegan and Cruelty Free
  • Applies creamy, and dries to a matte finish
  • Smells like grapes (in my opinion)
  • Has 10ml of product inside
  • Is inspired by the city
  • It is neither a lipstick, or a lipgloss
  • Long wearing formula
  • Doe Foot Applicator
  • Comparable to the infamous Lime Crime Velvetines
  • Australis are working on making more shades to add to the collection.
I have created two looks using the lip product as the main focus.

As always, I have created quite a dramatic look on one eye, and a rather neutral, daytime look on the other.

For the dramatic eye I used:

Mary Kay (Shade Name forgotten) Lavender on Lid
Revlon - Violet Starlet - Crease
Deep Purple - Outter V
Black (Lighly) - Crease
Maybelline Hyper Glossy Liquid Liner (Was not intended to look that dramatic, but it turned out cool)
Covergirl Flamed out Mascara.

For the neutral Eye I used:

Naked Palette:
Buck - Lid
Hustle - Crease

Covergirl Flamed Out Mascara.

My opinion on the product:

I highly dislike it. It REALLY hard to apply the damn thing with the applicator and it bleeds easily.
It also makes my already stained teeth appear more yellow - therefore I will not wear it out in public.
The purple also went into my mouth and stained my teeth.
It takes a while to dry, I was expecting it to be pretty fast drying.
It didn't feel matte to me at all. From what everyone said, matte lip products normally make you feel like you need a lip balm on top, all I could feel was creamyness.
It also needed quite a few layers.

Would I reccommend this to anyone? No, not really.

What are your thoughts on the product?

Keep Smiling,
xobrontie

Autumn/Winter Must Haves 2014

Hey Beauties,

Lets get back into the spring of things. Put the past, in the past, and lets focus on the future.

Before I start, I just want to state a short message:

I am going to start making YouTube videos again. I made videos around this time last year, and at August I stopped. But I'm going to begin again, and link it with this blog. However. My YouTube username is totally different to my blog. And I am not going to make another Facebook Page for my YouTube fans, so I've converted my page for both accounts. You can like that here. My YouTube channel can be viewed here so make sure you are subscribed!

Anyway, today's blog post is all about my picks for this Autumn and Winter. Now, it doesn't feel like Autumn yet, its been boiling hot still, and today it began to rain and was a tad cloudy. So I'm hoping it becomes colder because I just want to wear some damn jumpers!

We'll start off with my Lipstick Picks.

L-R: Maybelline Color Sensational - Berry Beautiful 941,  OM She - Grace, Essence - More To Love 57, Rimmel Kate Moss - 04

L-R: Rimmel, Essence,  OM She, Maybelline.
For the colder seasons, I love a good darker, raspberry lip colour. It seems to compliment my pale skin colour rather nicely, but some colours, do make my already stained yellow teeth (Gross, I know) appear more yellow.

Maybelline Color Sensational: Berry Beautiful I'm pretty sure this shade is discontinued as I haven't seen it in store, and I just bought this from a lady at the market. But I love this shade so much. Its a shade I'm pretty sure I will be reaching for a lot in the upcoming months.

Essence: More To Love I'm pretty sure Essence has recently discontinued this shade too, but I haven't actually worn this yet, as its a bit glittery, but I'm sure I will wear it on those days where I just want a hint of red on my lips, as it doesn't show up that vibrantly. (On image, that was with a few layers.)

Rimmel Kate Moss: 04 I love this shade so much, But I don't really wear it too often as it does make my teeth yellow. So when I wear this, I usually just dab and blend with my fingers, and with the slight pink of my lip colour shining through its just perfect. image with it on here

OM She: Grace I have a feeling this is either a new, or old shade. As I didn't see it at Priceline yesterday. But I got this in my last bellabox, and I love this shade. What I love more is the fact that its a little bit darker than my favorite lip colour ever. (Essence All About Cupcake) and this smells so good too.

For lip Liners...

This has no shade name, but its by the brand Smooch. Which my Mum just picked up for 50cents at my local pharmacy. Its creamy, lasts for ages, and its just great quality.

Now I'm a nail polish junkie (Collection coming next week!) So I have a few favorites!

Rimmel Salon Pro: Punk Rock Okay. I totally reccomend these nail polishes. They are great. It lasts about, 4-5 days I'd say? and its very easy to apply as well. I have 2 from this range and I will be buying more.

Essie: Bahama Mama I love this nail polish. I think this is going to be the most worn on my nail:s this year. Its a perfect shade, and gold and silver can match it really well.

Rimmel Metal Rush: Bronze Princess  I painted this on my nails last night. And on my other nails I have Australis' Trackie Dacks, and thats already started chipping, even with Seche Vite on top. But Bronze Princess hasn't. And it only required 2 coats.

Rimmel 60 Seconds: Aye, Aye Sailor I love this nail polish, well I love all my nail polishes, duh, but this one in particular is different to all the other ones I own. I don't own a navy blue. And this one is just amazing. I love to pair this with Sally Hansen's Celeb City. Perfect combination.

Ahh...Eyeshadows. I have a few that I will think I will be reaching.

Bobbi Brown Creme Eyeshadow: Burnished This creme eyeshadow (or cream however you spell it) is very similar to Maybelline's Bad to the Bronze. So thats the reason why I love it. And last year, that was my statement piece, so I reckon I will repeat that.

Rimmel Smokey Eyes Quad I only use the black and grey out of this quad, but I love it. This was my first eyeshadow set I bought and have used, and its probably past its due date, but I don't really mind! (How do you tell if it is out of date?)

Rimmel: Dusk This is a matte brown that I like to apply to my lids on lazy days. It applys well and lasts throughout the day, which is great!

Maybelline Colour Tattoo: Electric Blue I haven't used this very often, but I think I will start to create some smokey eyes with this as I love the colour.

Urban Decay's Naked Palette I find that this palette has the best colour selection for the colder months. Its easy to make various smokey eyes, and you can create many, many looks.

Last, but certainly not least. A must have for everyone:

Moisturiser. You need this baby in your life. I never used to use this until recently, and its just magical. This one is the Cetaphil one, I only got this because it was reduced in Coles (Still in date though) but I have tried the Thursday Plantation one, which I will be doing a review on very soon!!

What are your key items for this season?

Keep Smiling,

xobrontie

February Empties

Hey Beauties,

Last post I swear to God.

I've decided I'm only going to post empties every 2 months, as I don't really use that much up in a month. But here is what I have used up this month.

First up, I used up these Wot Not wipes I got in a Bellabox a few months back. I LOVED these more than my Neutrogena ones. And that says alot. These are full of Moisture and aren't drying when removing makeup. I am considering buying these again. But I'm not sure.

Yes, there is a little bit of product left. But I cannot get it out. This is just a cheap ass, $5 gift pack, Body Scrubs, that I got for Christmas. This was okay, it smelt nice (Scent was Tropical) but it wasn't long lasting and not moisturising. Infact it was drying. My skin is never dry and I actually needed to moisturise myself which I hardly ever need to do. So I won't repurchase this.

If I could upload a photo of my stretchmarks, I would. Mine are insane. My mother describes it as 'Post Pregnancy Stretchmarks'. I have it on my boobs, all up my arms, and from my hip, down to my calf. Its crazy. I've been using Bio Oil, and there wasn't much in there so I don't know how effective it was, so I'm going to repurchase it.

This Collection 2000 Nail Polish is just a shit formula. Its like water. I can't apply with it. Its just so sheer that I give up. I think it may be because either a) its old b) its gone crap from humidity. Either or I may or may not repurchase it.

This product is still full, but I just cannot use it. It hurts my eyes to the point where I have to rub them. Theres too many chemicals in it! Model Co. Change the freaking formula. Apart from that, the mascara is fine. Repurchase? No.

So....Yah. Thats all I've used this month, and this is my last post for the night! I'm going to go now, and install adobe to my laptop. Because I can't do shit without it popping up.

Keep Smiling
