Lust Have It June 2016

This months bag was mainly skincare based, and though I'm not upset by that, I'm upset by the fact that we got a pretty crap amount of products this month. All products apart from the makeup item were 'deluxe sized' and I don't think this bag was really worth it in my opinion. But heres what I got.

ETC - Edgy Tempting Cosmetics Eyeliner Pen in Grey Blue
So this is the main full size item we got, and I'm not going to use it. I'm picky with my eyeliners and I can tell by looking at them if its going to be creamy, or rough (I've had many years experience with my eyeliner, as I went through an 'emo' phase and wore liner for 2 years straight.) and I can tell by looking at it, its going to be rough. It doesn't look like a fancy brand either, looks like a cheap chemist brand. So I'll be donating this to work next Monday.
Full Size. Retails for $15

Sasy N Savy Peppermint N Rosemary Revive Bath N Shower Gel
THIS SMELLS SOOOO GOOD. Holy cow! I can't wait to use this, probably the only item I am looking forward to using out of the whole thing. I have used Sasy N Savy in the past, can't remember what I thought of the brand though as its probably over a year ago.
Deluxe Size.
Full Size Retails for $35

Neutrogena Deep Clean Exfoliator
I used this ages ago before they changed the formula, it was okay. Not something I'd repurchase though. The new formula might be different so I will be using this.
Deluxe Size
Full Size Retails For $12.99

Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Wipes
If you have been following my blog for a while you would know these use to be my holy grail wipes, but I've now moved on from them. I went to use them 10 minutes ago, and this packet is 100% dried out. Not happy. Especially when I have no other way of removing my makeup right now and I have to sleep on white pillows. Cool.
Deluxe Size (I believe you can get these at Chemist Warehouse for like $4)
Full Size Retails For: $12.99

BONUS ITEM
Paula's Choice Resist Intensive Wrinkle Repair Retinol Serum
As soon as I pulled this out of the bag, I knew my Mum would love this. Not only that, this is a pretty good brand. I've never tried it personally, but I hear YouTuber's talk about it all the time.
This is a trial size, but look at how cute the packaging is!
I tried to do some research on how much this would cost. A sample (Which is less than 7ml) is $2 on their site. And the full size (which is 30ml) is $57 So I'm guessing this size would be maybe $10. I'd have no clue though.

Rimmel Apocalips Review

I tried this product out a few months ago and never got around to reviewing it. I just found my review in my 'review book' and decided to, well, review it for you guys

The Rimmel Apocalips claims to be a Matte Lip Cream (Or Lip Velvet as it states on the packaging), and I'd say it definately isn't a completley matte finish, I'd say its more of a Satin finish, but drier.

Like most matte lip creams, it has a doe foot applicator, its kind of bent a bit though in the centre (Like the Jeffree Star Velour Lip Creams Applicator) and I think that makes the application much easier.

The pigmentation of this lip cream is pretty opaque. I quite like it. I've got mine in the shade Atomic Rose (I think. Not 100% Sure)

The scent of this lip cream compared to others is horrible. I can't even remember what it smells like as I didn't describe it in my book, and I'm too lazy to get up and get it.

My opinion:

Its a pretty good matte lip cream. Best drugstore one I've found on the market so far, but I'm yet to try the Maybelline ones. I want to try the Nyx Suede Lip Creams but they cost a fortune off Ebay.

ColourPop Shadows Review

ColourPop shadows are something I have tried this year and have fallen in love with. I have a huge collection of them and I'm wanting more.

ColourPop are an LA Based Brand that are Cruelty free and Made in LA.

Their well known for their amazing, crazy feeling shadows, known as the Super Shock Shadows. They are eyeshadows that are cream to powder finish and all in all they are just unique. Its very hard to describe what they feel like, wet almost?

They are super pigmented, you don't even need a base. They also last all day which is great.

They come in a variety of colours and formulas, and here I have shown you 4

Rebel (Green, No longer available. LE Shaaanxo Collection): Matte Formula.

Deluxe (Shimmery Brown, also from Shaaanxo Collab): Pearlized

Get Lucky (Gold): Ultra Metallic (My favourite)

Bae (Purple/Blue/Brown): Metallic

These shadows are super cheap at $5 each, and for postage they go on weight. I've ordered 5 things before and it only cost me $8/$10

I highly recommend ColourPop and I will have collection posts coming up in the next month.

Real-U Control + Face Gel Review

Real-U are an upcoming Australian Based company that make products for Acne Prone Skin. Their products are aimed to help your skin no matter what age, because alot of products these days are specified for 'teenage' skin, and lets be honest. Our skin ages as we do. Real-U have an aim and that is to stop hurting our skin with harmful chemicals and start to become friends with it again!

This specific product by Real-U has NO Benzoyl Peroxide and NO Salycylic Acid.

I can say after testing this product it is gentle to the skin.

On my skin (Which I am Oily/Combination. I had severe acne in high school) it does tend to break me out the next day so I only use this once a week. But it isn't a bad break out. It helps that pimple that is just 'sitting there' come out more so I don't have to wait days for it to appear.

It definatley minimized my pores, almost instantly. Which I loved. I'd honestly probably try to use this as a primer if it will minimize my pores faster than my current pore erasing primer.

This product, unlike alot of ones you can buy, is actually made in Australia. Which is a major bonus!

And last of all, the product has no scent.

Would I recommend this product? Of course!

You can read up more about Real-U here.

Bellabox September 2015

You know what I figured out today? It is my 2 year anniversary on my blog/being with bellabox!

Click here to throwback to my second post ever which is a bellabox unboxing!

This months box wasn't that great but I'll use some of it.

I forgot to rotate this image but, this is a Natural Cycles Ovulation Test....Not going to go into much detail on that. But my first reaction to this was, well I laughed. The box also came with a coupon code to get a pregnancy test. I'm not sexually active, nor am I in a relationship.

Another bonus item was a sample of Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E Moisturiser. This is for dry skin so I'm giving it to my Mum as I have oily skin.

MooGoo Skin Care Cover Up Buttercup Moisturiser
I got a MooGoo product a couple months back and it was okay. So I'm not overly thrilled with this but I'll use it.
RRP: $29.90

Carmex Jasmine and Green Tea Lip Balm
I've never seen Carmex in Australia before, and I'm excited to try the lip balm because I've obviously never tried the brand before and I've heard good things about it. You can apparently get it from Chemist Warehouse but I've never seen it there.
RRP: $5.99

Nude by Nature Pressed Mineral Powder
I'm excited for this, but unfortunately it is too dark for me. I haven't tried anything by Nude before.
RRP: $39.95

Jurlique Age Defying Firming Treatment Mask
Everyone recieved this in their box this month. I haven't used a sheet mask before so I don't know how to feel about it right now.
RRP: For 5 Pack $69.00

Coffee Organics Peppermint Scented Organic Coffee Scrub
This is the item I'm probably most excited for. I've wanted to try a body scrub for sooo long! And although its coffee and I don't like coffee I bet it will be great for my skin.

Overall this box was okay. Not looking forward to alot of it though. Not the best box ever.

Maybelline Baby Lips Candy Wow Balm

Todays review is on the new Baby Lips Candy Wow Balm.

These balms come in 4 Shades (In Australia, may be different overseas.)

They are lip balms in a crayon format with slight pigmentation.

They are scented slightly, but not to the extent where it is overpowering.

The packaging and lid sits tightly and firm together.

It is slightly tacky like most baby lips products.

It is very moisturising.

And it lasts a good half hour without food.

I would reccomend these products.

Maybelline Great Lash; Lots of Lashes Review

I think I did a review on this when I first started this blog but I thought I'd review it again because I've changed alot when it comes to blogging.

This mascara is my #1 Favourite Mascara by Maybelline.

It is a lengthening mascara and I think is the most perfect for a natural look.

It is also great at seperating each lash and is easy to grab the inner corner lashes, and makes the bottom lashes look great.

It says and on the packaging its a 'Great Lash Grabber' and I totally agree.

It is a buildable mascara, I only usually use one coat, occasionally two.

And its also safe for Contact Lens'.

Review: Maybelline Hypersharp Wing Liner

For ages I have been on the search for the most perfect liner. One thats not thick and pretty easy to use. And Maybelline's newest liner is just that. Its perfect. Goodbye old liners, hello Maybelline Hypersharp Wing. Lets get into it!

Lets start with the packaging. I love the packaging. Its not just plain boring black with white or grey writing in fact it has a, semi holographic print on it. And the two colours just blend wonderfully. (Well Black and anything matches)

This liner has a thick side, and a thin side. Which is wonderful because somedays I want a thin line whereas on others I'd like a thick line. So basically you flip the pen over, if that makes sense. Its hard to describe what you do - I thought there was a latch and you turned the latch, but no. Blonde moment.

And obviously this is a black liner and its very black.

It doesn't fade during the day and its rather matte.

So I love this liner, I've thrown my other liners out because they just don't do justice to this liner.

Would I buy this again? Definatley.

Review: Essence All About Matte Powder

As most of you guys should know, I'm a pretty big fan of most of Essence's products. But I hadn't tried any of their Foundations/Powders and I thought I'd put them to a test in a full face review on my YouTube. I did this a couple months back and as you know I've been slacking a bit with the blog posts but I'm going to try and post atleast 3 times a week now. With either reviews, unboxings, hauls, first impressions or tutorials. And for the next week, I'm focusing on reviews, as I have no set tutorials or first impressions planned. But I will have them ready in the coming week. But lets focus on the main product in this post. The Essence All About Matte Powder.

*Correction, I'm too lazy to change my error but its Matt not Matte*

This powder by Essence is their only Translucent Powder they have on the shelves in Australia (May be different in other Countries) Now if you are unsure as to what the word translucent means, it means it will automatically suit the shade of your skin no matter if you are pale as hell like me, dark toned, or tan. This is the whole reason why I chose to test this powder, because in Essence Foundation's and powders they only have 3 Shades (Again may be different in other countries but this is from an Australian perspective) Which I believe are Light, Medium and Dark. The light for me was just too tan for my liking so I decided to try this powder and it matched perfectly with my skin tone and didn't change the colouring at all.

It is very soft when applied to skin, and I just used my regular brush and the application was just softer. It may be because of the con though that I will get into in a moment.

I found the first time I applied this powder it was slightly cakey. Though this may have been because I have never used a Translucent powder before and I'm not used to the application. But since the first time I used it, the application wasn't so cakey.

Now for the cons (Downfalls of the product)

The formula is a bit Chalky. But that is to be expected I suppose from such a cheap brand. I mean it's not Mac or Revlon.

The packaging is just cheap and could possibly break easily. Though it is a nice packaging its just cheap. But again, its a cheap brand and its to be expected.

Overall:

I may, or may not buy this product again. I don't know. I think I prefer my Maybelline Powder (review coming on that soon too)

^^ Full Face Essence video!

The powder retails for around $6.95/$7.95 I'm not entirely sure and I don't think they have a website.

*Edit*

Yes they have a website, its www.essence.eu/au/home and the powder costs $6.15

Maybelline Dream Smooth Primer Review

While I'm waiting for my bellabox to arrive so I can give you all a review on it, let me give you a review on this product I have been loving lately.

Maybelline Dream Smooth Primer Review

Sorry no pictures because I totally forgot! Same packaging as the Dream Matte Mousse Foundation though!

Okay. Let me just start off by saying this primer, is hella smooth and smoothes out my pores on my skin. I only use a tiny bit (As you should do when using primer cause a little goes a long way) and I just love it. It leaves your skin feeling as soft as a babies bottom!

Its gel like formula makes it easy to blend out and its not sticky or tacky.

I never noticed longtivity of my foundation, or whether it faded during the day, but I can say the foundation blends over the top really nicely. It blends just as well as the Benefit the Porefessional and thats saying a lot seeing as that product is almost triple the price of the Maybelline primer.

The price is a bit costly. Of course, over in America its cheaper, but here in Australia it retails at $15.95 (Priceline Cost) So I would probably only buy it during sales. Its only 7ml as well so you don't get that much in there.

It can be oily - Some reviews I read on the Priceline site said it was 'very oily' but I haven't had that problem and I have oily skin. It can only become oily if you put too much on. I use probably less than half of a 5 cent coin - if that makes sense.

Would I repurchase this product?

Possibly if its on sale. Not for the full price though. (I purchased it for 20% off during the Maybelline 100th Anniversary sale)

NYX Le Chic FLick Mascara Review

I've never tried a NYX mascara before, but when I found one for sale cheap I picked it right up.

The NYX Le Chick Flick Mascara is such a natural looking mascara that it is perfect for almost any look. On my lashes personally it only looks as if I've applied a coat of mascara (well obviously) with hardly any effort, and thats quite honestly how I like the look. I don't like my lashes too clumpy but just natural looking.

This mascara also is pretty great at seperating and lengthening the lashes.

It also comes off quite easily too which is a plus.

Would I buy this mascara again? For sure!

Nyx Glimmerstick Review

The Nyx Glimmerstick I have owned for a year and only ever used once and I can say its one product I regret buying and for one reason only. I'll get to that in a minute, lets get through the good facts first.

  • The product, like the name suggests, it glittery/shimmery. With fine glitter/shimmers that hardly show up.
  • The product is very cream and smooth and glides on
  • Its also very soft.
Only downside of it is that the product stained my eyelids, and it wouldn't remove for a few days. And having green on your eyes....makes you look sick and tired. So it wasn't very pretty.

I'd probably repurchase this product, in a natural shade like white or taupe. But not in a green.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Enzyme Mask Review

Last week I went shopping and the number one thing I wanted to buy was a face mask because I just needed to cleanse my face. So I picked up the Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Purifying Enzyme Mask and I must say this was delightful.

The mask claims to purify, exfoliate and smooth skin and I must say it does do all of that. I had a few zits coming on my face the day I used it, and the next day they were just about gone.

It uses a natural Kaolin Clay to cool the face during application and Papaya Enzymes to smooth the skin after application and my face felt like a babies bottom after.

The consistincy of the product was also very thick but in a good way, not much was needed to cover my whole face, and my face is pretty round and chubby. Its also white and it does resemble clay.

Another good thing I found about this mask was that within the 10 minutes of having it on my face, it did not harden. Which I found good and made it easier to remove.

So just like all other Palmer's products, this was just great. And I would go back out and buy it in a jiffy.

Jane Gem Glamouflauge Primer Review

This primer, was one of the most unusual primers I had ever used.

I'm not sure if I liked it, or disliked it.

I guess I'm more used to using creme primers and theres just so many primers out there that I haven't used yet.

But this primer is oddly liquid-y and doesn't require a whole lot to be applied to the face.

I didn't notice any difference in whether it made my foundation last longer at all though, I thought it was just about the same.

I've got a few mixed feelings about this primer - does it actually work, does it not work. Is the consistincy meant to be like this or has it been packaged incorrectly.

What kind of primers do you like?

Benefit Hervana Blush Review

At the end of last year, I went to Melbourne, and one of the things I wanted to buy for myself, as a (late) birthday gift to myself, was a Benefit product.

As being a Tasmanian, and Living in Hobart, with a Myer that was burnt down only leaves me with a not even complete makeup selection. We have nothing compared to Melbourne. We only have a Mac, Revlon, Lancome and I think an Elizabeth Arden counter? I'm probably wrong I don't spend enough time in there. But point is, we have jack shit in Myer Makeup.

Being a newbie to the Benefit train, I wanted to buy something simple, and know that I'd like and get alot of usage out of. Therefore I chose Hervana. I swatched it and loved it straight away. Its the perfect blush for me.

A light soft angelic pink is the best way I would describe the colour, and the application. As the application isn't a heavy one.

The blush is different from all the ones I own in the sense that my other ones are more Mauve in colour and Hervana is more....pink.

I love this Blush and I do plan to buy more from Benefit.

Do you own this blush?

Essence Eyeliner Pencil Review

Before I post this I need to say, don't judge a brand by its price. Thats something I used to do, but no longer do. I feel like we all judge things on price and think that just because an item is cheap that the quality, taste, overall product is going to be a shitty one. And Essence is one of those brands.

I honestly love Essence's products that I have tried so far. I am yet to try their foundations, but I plan on doing a full face tutorial really soon.

Anywho, lets get into reviewing this product:

I have four of the Essence Long Lasting Eye Pencils. And they are all wonderful.

I have (I forgot the shade names, sorry.) Black, Silver and Bronze. They come in many different colours. I used to have more but because they are not as pigmented, I opted to throw them out.

These pencils are wonderfully creamy and pigmented. Downside is that because they wind up, they tend to break easily. They also don't last so long either. Especially on the waterline.

I give these pencils a 4/5

Chi Chi Extravananza Palette Review

CHI CHI, YOU'VE DONE IT AGAIN

Bloody Hell I love this palette.

Its the perfect everyday palette in my eyes as it has 30 eyeshadows ranging from neutrals to brights. And as always, they are all perfectly pigmented too. Fun Fact: The 30 eyeshadows are their best sellers!

Coming soon to my YouTube: Tutorials using each different row! Go Sub to me! (Click)

The palette also contains a bonus 5 waterproof eyeliner set, in shades black, brown, white, purple and navy blue. Which are all highly pigmented and I'm actually considering buying more Chi Chi eyeliners. And they are waterproof and don't budge during the day. And they come off easy with waterproof wipes or Garnier Micellar Water.

I recommend this palette to anyone who wants to buy a Chi Chi eyeshadow, weather it be a palette or single eyeshadow. Because the retail price for this palette is so worth it. $30. And it comes with 30 eyeshadows. Who can say bargain? Cause I can!

Go grab yourself one and enjoy it!

5/5 Stars for Sure!

Keep Smiling,

xobrontie

Elf Brushes Review

Hey So,

These brushes are some I've been using for quite a while now, and I can honestly say that I love them.

These brushes are ever so soft and the blending brushes blend so easily that you almost forget that you're blending.

The Eyeshadow brush is so presice that it makes packing on eyeshadow a total breeze.

The brushes are easy to clean, and easy to pack product onto.

I'm definatley going to keep buying more of these brushes and reccomend them to anyone who considers buying them.

5/5 stars!

Keep Smiling,

xobrontie

Essence Eyeliner Pen Review

Hey Guys,

So I always have an issue finding the right eyeliner pen, don't know why but its difficult for me. They are either too thick, too thin, too dry or too runny. And I think I have found the right one for now.

I purchased the Essence Eyeliner Pen along with their Lash Princess as they came in a combo pack for the same price as the mascara ($5.45 or something) and I was like "Eh stuff it lets try it". I had no expectations for it. But when I tried it, I was amazed.

First off, the pen is so easy to use and to line your lash line with. Its a buildable product so you can easily make it thin or thick. I make it inbetween because thats how I personally like it. Its also very precise the end.

The eyeliner pen dries reasonably fast which is a good thing I think, so if you muck it up you don't have to wait ages for it to dry.

It is long lasting and doesn't fade during the day time. Which is always a bonus.

It doesn't smudge at all. I've never had an issue with smudging.

I give this eyeliner a 5/5 stars and would for sure buy again.

Keep Smiling,

xobrontie

Review: Maybelline - The Falsies; Big Eyes Mascara

Hey Guys,

So this mascara to me was a bit of a hit and miss. I love it, yet hate it at the same time.

Lets get onto the details:

So this mascara is a dual ended mascara having 2 sides. One side for your top lashes, the bottom for the lower lashes.

With it having 2 ends this made it difficult for me to use and made my application very messy.

I found it easier to apply it on the lower lashes than on the top lashes. So currently I am using it for that reason alone.

This is a volumizing mascara. Not a lengthening one. As my lashes became more spidery when I applied it. I'm normally not picky if it is lengthening or volumizing I normally don't care, but I hated the way my lashes looked.

The top brush is bigger and thicker, and the lower brush is smaller and thinner making it easier to apply.

This mascara is another one from the Falsies line. Which I normally am a fan of.

I wasn't too impressed and I feel as if Maybelline are going downhill a bit. I'm kinda leaning towards Rimmel a bit again. Step it up, team!

I give this mascara a 2.5 out of 5 stars and would not repurchase again.

Have you tried this mascara?

Keep Smiling,

xobrontie
