BH Cosmetics Party Girl Palette Review

Hey Beauties,

So I've had a lot of fun recently playing around with my new toy.

Isn't it pretty!

I recently bought this off Beauty Joint and I do not regret it. This palette is perfection.

It has a great range of shades ranging from bright to dark to natural, all with different finishes. Some are shimmery, some have a pearl finish, a few of them are matte, and there is even some metallic finish ones too.

The pigmentation on these shadows are pretty great too. The first colour I swatched was that delightful matte yellow there, and it just glided on so smoothly.

I'd say with these shadows you don't need a base, but like I said in my tutorial (Below) it works better with a base, as without, the shadows just mooshed together and didn't look as nice.

As you can see from this image there are a lot of non bright shades so the palette is perfect for a day to night look. The only thing I don't like is that the pale 'browbone' colour is shimmery. You may like it shimmery, but I prefer it to be matte.

Although this palette has a lot of shades similar in colour, its easy to create different looks with them.

The palette had no fall out when I used it, which was pretty impressive, and it came off easily and cleanly.

I absolutley love the range of shadows in this palette.

I think this palette is perfect. Although, I wish the colour range expanded wider, but I will probably buy another BH Palette in the near future.

The only downfall of this palette is although it is very slim, its not that great for travelling because its quite big. But if you have a huge make up bag, go for it.

All swatches shown above were done with NO primer.

Bellabox Unboxing: April 2014

Hi Beauties,

So my Bellabox arrived last week, but I've only just got around to posting about it.

This months box in my opinion was a bit 'meh'. It was okay, but, could've been better.

I'm only using 3 of the things that came in this months box, so only half of it is going to use.

Heres what I got!

Dirty Works Hand Cream:

I swear you can get this in Coles now, am I right? I don't know but the name seems familiar. But I'm keen to give this a try. I've got so many hand creams though (Like 7) that I haven't even finished yet. Not even half empty yet. But I'll get to this eventually. Probably in like 2 years xD

Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream:

When Laura did my nails a few months back she said that I had really bad cuticles, and to be honest, I don't know how to care for them. So I'll give this a go, and if I like it I may buy the full size. By the way, this shit smells amazing.

Indio Moisturiser and Eye Pore Eraser Thingy:

Ignore the title I forgot what the other item was called. But the pore eraser, I didn't really need, so I gave that to Mum and she seemed pretty excited about it - By the way, in 3 weeks time, every Wednesday post I will be questioning my Mum about some anti ageing products and other products she uses. She asked me if she could be featured on the blog because she had things she wanted to share with you about and I thought it was a great idea!

The moisturiser is a clear one? So I don't really know what that will be like. But I might take it away with me and use it with my BB Cream to help blend because its small.

Red Earth Lipgloss 05:

This....isn't my colour. I don't wear reds, hardly ever. So I've put this in my giveaway draw.

I also got a sample of Revlon's Nearly Naked, which I tried a sample of in Cleo last year and I quite liked it. But its not as full coverage as I'd like it to be. I'll probably use it.

I know that some people got the new Avon Mascara instead of the lipgloss. I kinda wish I got that. But whatever.

Wasn't really happy with this box.

Come on BB Team, step it up!!

I am slowly beginning to think of un-subscribing to Bellabox because I haven't been wowed by their boxes recently. Last month I didn't use a THING. I'll give them 4 more months before I renew my sub to step it up otherwise I'm not going to be a member anymore.

Beauty Joint Haul/Review!

Hey Beauties,

About 2 weeks ago, I placed my first online makeup order. I decided to use Beauty Joint as I had heard some positive things about them and I must say I was very pleased with my experience there and that I will be a returning customer. Before I go into the review of the company, here's what I bought!

BH Cosmetics; BH Party Girl 40 Color Eyeshadow Palette -

Not going into much detail about this product as a review is coming up shortly. But this is my first BH Palette. I've wanted one for ages, and I was contemplating buying one off their official site, but when I looked on Beauty Joint, it turned out to be cheaper. I believe it was on sale for $13.40 or somewhere around that price. I deleted my email and I don't know the details to mums paypal so I can't quite find out!

But Beauty Joint has only just begun to start stocking BH Cosmetics Palettes, the whole range is not available, but there is a good variety to choose from. I also noticed the other day when I was looking that they are now also selling The Balm too. Which in my opinion, should be on Beauty Bay (Beauty Joint's affiliate site that sells more high end brands) because The Balm is not cheap. Its over $25. And I don't buy makeup for that cheap. Well, rarely anyway.

Jordana; Best Lash Extreme Mascara -

I bought this after Lauren Curtis raving about how great this is. And it was rather cheap too. I think under $4? And this mascara is one of my new favourites. Not saying why, but you'll have to stay tuned to find out why!

Overall

Postage at Beauty Joint is calculated by weight of the items you buy. My postage came to around the same price as the palette, and together it was like $31.06 or something. Which I thought was good, because I knew I would like the palette and I would pay close to $20 for a good palette and I just thought it was decent.

Also, when it comes to shipping you can choose the type. Standard USP, Express USP, and theres another one too which I can't remember (USP = United States Postal Service) Then, you have the option of paying for insurance on your package, just incase it gets lost. I took up on this offer (It was only $1.25 but I think it increases in weight?) because I have had experiences in the past with another company (Not naming who) when I won an eyeshadow, and never got it at all. This was because of postal screw up. And also, us Australian's know how lousy and pathetic Australia Post is, so I just got insurance incase it got lost or something. And it wasn't a crazy amount extra I had to pay, $1.25 is nothing.

The length of time to get to my house was faster than expected. I was thinking about a month for it to get to me, but it actually took 9 working days. How great is that! The parcel was also shipped the next day that I bought it too.

I definatly do recommend purchasing from Beauty Joint, and with this pleasant experience I will be a returning customer.

Have you bought anything from Beauty Joint or any other online store before? Tell me what you think?

I'm considering buying some Real Techniques brushes from iHerb next.

Review: Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Face Cream

Hey Beauties,

Okay, so I'm normally not one to rave on about creams as I honestly don't use them too much because of my naturally oily skin - but this particular one my Mum bought on clearance at Chemist Warehouse is just too good not to rave about.

*This particular product, I am unaware if it was on clearance because they were discontinuing or other.

But this product. Is probably the best for acne prone skin.

Why do I say that?

Because it has Tea Tree oil infused in it.

Now, I'm sure we all now by now, and if you don't know well, Tea Tree oil is really good for acne. It kills the....infection I guess we'll call it? And eliminates the baddies.

I decided to give this ago, first of all just as a one off thing to see what it was like, and HOLY MOLY. This stuff is amazing.

Okay, so first off, you don't need a ton. A wee bit goes a long way.

Second of all, you can feel the tea tree in the product getting into all the pores - yes it stings, but that means its working.

And after applied, the face just feels so freaking soft its like a babies butt. I couldn't believe it.

I know this is a short review, but I'm not good at reviewing creams as they all just seem the same to me.

*Thursday Plantation does NOT test on animals.

Benzac AC (5%) Review!

Hey Beauties,

So for the past 2 weeks, I have been testing out a new product for my acne. I've been suggested by my GP to try out Benzac AC, So I did.

I had really high hopes for this product as the price was pretty intense. So heres what I thought overall!

Out of all acne related products I've used, this one does NOT have a strong smell of chemicals, infact, you can hardly smell a chemical at all. Which is great.

I start off with cleansing my face using their Daily Facial Cleanser (Says to use twice daily, but I'm a lazy shit and only do it once.) and that basically gets rid of all the yuckyness left on my skin, I then apply the cream/gel whatever it is, but i don't rub it in. I first dab it onto my acne so its left pretty thick, then after about 2 minutes i then rub it in. I'm not sure how its meant to be applied as it doesn't say on the back to rub it in, it just says to apply to skin. I only apply this mainly to my cheeks, and other areas that are being affected by acne.

Within the first week there was a huge difference. My acne scars were beginning to fade, and that has never happened before, I thought I was scarred for life to be quite honest. My acne was massively reduced and it seemed to stay away.

I had found though that by the next week, I had been so stressed I had forgotten to use it, therefore my acne had started to come back, so it is a constant use type of thing.

Its not sticky, or tacky on the skin, it feels like you've just rubbed moisturizer onto your face.

Within the amount of time of me using this product, I have yet to find any cons.

I would really recommend this to someone struggling with acne. It is more on the pricey side ($26-27AU) but you don't need much cream, I only use a tiny bit and it goes far.

Review: Essence Tribal Summer Pigment

Hey Beauties,

I was so excited for when the Essence Tribal Summer collection came out (No longer in stores, sorry!) as they brought out pigments! Thats all I was mainly looking forward to. So I bought one pigment, in the shade Copper Earth.

Now with this being a pigment, you'd expect it to be quite shimmery right? Now I was suprised at how much less shimmer was in it, theres hardly any in it, well there is, but it really isn't noticable as it blends right in which is amazing. I was very happy with that. Its also very pigmented, which you'd expect from a pigment, but I had to add that in as this is an Essence product, and not all their products can be the best.

This product is not tested on animals - as far as I'm aware of, thats one of the many things I like about Essence. And it is a decent size also at 3g.

As you can see, (ignore the other swatch) its got very faint shimmers in it, and they are gold, not silver so it blends even more. I find it hard to describe this colour, but the best way I can think of is the colour of cinnamon. Its very similar to that.

I really do like this product, and I hope Essence bring out some more pigments to some of their other collections, because I will certainly buy them!

Keep Smiling,

Review: Loreal Infallible Pressed Eyeshadow

Hey Beauties,

So, quite a while ago, I think it was last month, I purchased a Loreal Infallible eyeshadow. Now this isn't any ordinary eyeshadow. It is a pressed pigment eyeshadow. So its pretty neat.

I selected - Well. I didn't select, it was on clearance so I didn't have a choice, but the colour I got was in Innocent Turquoise, and if I were to pick a colour, this wouldn't be one I'd choose to be honest, because I own way too many blues. But I had to buy it because Lauren Curtis (Youtuber) raves about them so.....I buy what youtubers tell me to buy......its bad.

The colour pay off of this shadow is quite nice, in my opinion though, not very pigmented. I was expecting more blue, but its more of a sheer, baby blue, with silver reflects in it. Its almost holographic (omg i want a holographic eyeshadow now)

Upon application, its really smooth and soft like a babies bottom. I've had no experiences with fall out thus far, but the product packs onto the brush pretty firmly and is pretty thick (not in a bad way) so you don't need to tap any of the excess off.

The shade really reminds me of a fish scale, just the way it catches in the light.

I haven't worn this shade too often yet, just because I haven't worked out a way to wear it on a day to day basis. And its not too dramatic for me either. Its just subtle. Which I don't own many eyeshadows that are a colour, but not too pow. So maybe thats why I'm so iffy about this product. I don't know.

Here's A tutorial I did using the shadow:

How would you wear this shadow?
