Empties March 2016

Whoa almost wrote 2015 for a second there. Still not used to writing or typing 2016 yet.

But I was going to write a Favorites post but to be honest, I only really have 3 favorites and I haven't really been trying anything new. So I'll write them when they feel worth it.

But I have quite a few empties this month. Its a good accomplishment finishing up products. I love that feeling. So heres what I used up and my brief thoughts on them!

Vivito Illuminating Primer
This expires in 2016. Doesn't give a date or month just says Best Before 2016. I don't want to risk using it, so I'm throwing it out.

Revlon Colourstay Translucent Powder
I loved this. It was excellent. Might repurchase, I don't know. I feel like Stay Matte by Rimmel is just as great and its cheaper.

Maybelline Baby Skin Primer
Favorite drugstore primer apart from Loreal Base Magique, which I just haven't had the chance to buy. Already have another one of these

Essence All About Matt Powder
This was good, just had a white cast which I didn't like.

Australis Contour Kit
I only ever used the banana powder, now that I have bought it separately (Review is coming) I don't need this.

Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel
Sad to see this go. And I hear its coming back for Christmas In July. So you can bet I'm stocking up on this baby.

Skin Yoga Sandalwood and Saffron Face Mask
This made my skin feel like a babies bum. It was beautiful.

Face of Australia Lipliner in Nude
This is just very grey toned and makes my lips look I'm sick.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof
Yes I love this mascara. Just not the waterproof version. I can't get it off my lashes no matter what method I try.

Autumn/Winter Picks 2016

Autumn/Winter have to be my favourite seasons. I'm just a lover of the cold seasons. I think its because I was brought up in Tassie where some days we wake up and its 1 degrees (Celcius) outside and I'm just so used to it. So here are my main picks for makeup this year.

Nivea Men Post Shave Balm: Yep I love this. My review on it went up last week if you are interested in reading it. I won't go on about it much.

Chi Chi Fabulous and Flawless Foundation: I have a review on this coming soon too. But for the price its a damn good foundation.

Mellow Cosmetics Blush in Bronze: I wasn't sure if I'd like this when I got it, but it has become me favourite blush. Its perfect for any look.

ColourPop Cruel Intentions: This is a gorgeous Mauve Blush. Thats all I lean towards on blushes, mauve tones.

Essence Soo Glow Highlighter in 01: Sad that Essence discontinued this. Cause this is amazing.

Ofra Lipliner in Wine
Essence Lipliner in Satin Mauve
ColourPop Lumiere Lipliner: These are all different Mauve Shades. I love them all individually.

NYX Plum Lipliner: Theres nothing left in this, I need another one. If only I can get my hands on it!

ColourPop Lumiere 2: Just bought this, its a tad darker than the original, and I'm OBSESSED.
Australis VelourLips in Doo-Bai and Bar-Tha-Lon-A: Both my current faves by Australis

Mac Velvet Teddy and Mehr: I use them both year round. So they are HG Status for me.

ColourPop Lumiere (Original): I have 2 of these, one lives in my bag, the other in my collection.

Chi Chi Viva La Diva in Checkin In: Very Similar to Velvet Teddy I feel.

ColourPop Central Perk, Deluxe and Rebel: I feel like I'll be reaching for these a lot

Kat Von D Monarch, Sleek Vintage Romance, Chi Chi Spices: I think these will be my most reached palettes. Especially the Kat Von D one.

Beauty Collection: Nail Polishes - Brights

The second last part in my nail polish section. I have a lot, I know. I have got rid of a lot too, so don't worry, and I just cleared it out again. I normally get rid of nail polishes if they chip in a day and a half. Because my nail polishes don't last longer than 3 days, no matter what I use. It lasts better depending on brand too.

Essence Color & Go; Off To Miami This is a recent addition to my collection. Its a gorgeous Coral.

Rimmel Super Gel; 041 Darling Dahlia This probably lasts the longest out of all polishes.

Dior; Princess I haven't worn this pink yet but it has pretty silver sparkles through it.

Ulta3; Kiwi Kaos Another new addition to my collection. I don't have a green like this.

Essie; Garden Variety Please excuse the sticker. This is a stunning teal.

Essie; Bikini So Teeny  Everyone has this periwinkle blue in their collection.

Essie Style Hunter I love this watermelon shade.

Sally Hansen; Pacific Blue I actually prefer this over Essie Butler Please

OPI Planks A Lot This is a grey toned purple.

Mac; Vivid Effect Haven't yet tried this, but I'm not the biggest fan of Mac nail polishes.

Essie Play Date My first Essie Polish. And I love it! Best purple ever!

Essie Mini Polish This one has no name, but I don't know how I feel about it.

Orly; Jealous Much? Best true mint I've come across.

Essie Mint No Name I haven't use this one yet, but its a really light blue/mint

Chanel; June I don't know how I feel about this one either. I'm not sure if it will suit my skintone.

Illamasqua Speckle The only Illamasqua item I own

And I'm pretty sure thats it for my nail polishes. The next post will be on false nails and things like that. And creams and such. Mainly an etc. post.

Nivea Men Post Shave Balm AS A PRIMER?!

Yes, I know. I'm late to the game. I didn't know if I wanted to try it out or not, and I could never find it on sale, then recently when Priceline had their skincare sale this was included so I bought it and decided to give it a go. Heres my thoughts on it.

Seeing as this product is an after shave product, it obviously has the scent of aftershave, I don't know how else to describe it. But it doesn't last or linger on the skin.

As for consistency, I don't know what I was expecting when I first tried it. But its almost a thick, runny consistency.

How do I apply it? Well, I just do it as if it was a regular primer. I apply it all over my face, and because it is a bit liquidy, I let it set for about 3 minutes, then I just apply my foundation and do my regular routine.

After doing some research alot of bloggers stated it reduced redness, and I hadn't realized until just recently but it does reduce redness around my cheeks and nose where I am mainly red.

This doesn't sting the face either like some after shave balms can, the reason being is because this doesn't contain alcohol or silicon.

This wouldn't be ideal for traveling as it is a thick glass bottle and it would take up a fair bit of room.

It retails for $11.49 at Priceline (You can also get it from other retailers.)

Beauty Collection: Nail Polishes - Darks

Nail Polish Shades that I'm always drawn towards are the darker shades, and I have a few. Here they are!

Essence Happy Girls Are Pretty; Happy Girls Rock: I like this shade but it chips on me, like most matte finishes do. I want to give it another go, but I don't have high expectations for it.

Orly; Lunar Eclipse: I love this shade. Perfect for a night out. Its a blue with purple glitters.

OPI; Russian Navy: This is a dark purple with navy, or the other way around. I haven't worn it yet.

Essie; Trophy Wife: This is a gorgeous, emerald green with blue undertones

Australis; Trackie Dacks: I think I might wear this next as we are transitioning into autumn and I think its a perfect shade for transitioning.

Essie Bahama Mama: My favorite. Its a beautiful burgandy shade.

Deborah Lippmann; Ray Of Light: This is a really unique shade. Its purple with gold flecks in it.

Rimmel Aye Aye Sailor: This is a stunning navy blue.

Rubi; Wine Glitter: A burgandy with silver and gold glitters.

Zoya No Name: I love this blue so much. Its more darker than a cobalt blue and its glittery too.

Avon; Wine and Dine With Me: A darker blood burgandy.

Sally Hansen Cherry Cherry Bang Bang: This is a really unique purple. Very light, unlike anything I have.

Sally Hansen Red Carpet: This is my most recent purchase. Its a red with red glitters through it.

Nude By Nature Skincare Haul

I know. I'm on a spending ban, but this ban did not include skincare, as thats something I really don't have much of.

I recently went to a Garage Sale and bought some brand new Nude By Nature Skincare products, all for $20 for the lot. So I thought I'd do a haul, and then do a review on it all later once I've used it.

Natures Eye and Face Makeup Remover
This product contains Sunflower, Jojoba and Rose Hip Oils, so I'm pretty keen to try it. Seeing as I am in love with Rose Hip Oil lately. It also states that it is meant to be gentle and is safe for sensitive eyes, which is good, because my eyes are real sensitive to removers especially lately and I know why. Might do a blog post on my health.

Nude Oil
This contains Tamanu Oil, which I honestly don't know what it is. I just did some research and it basically is made to make your skin glowy? I don't know. But the rest of the description of this product makes me excited. It claims to change the apperance of scarring, uneven skintone, skin aging, hydration, elasticity, firmness, acne scars and stretch marks. So I think its pretty much the same as Rose Hip Oil.

Nature's Pore Refining Toner
With Witch Hazel and Vitamin B5.
It says its meant to refine pores and smooth skin. Which would be great for a toner, as my skin normally feels quite, dry and stiff after toner.

Nature's Exfoliating Scrub
With Glycolic Acid and AHA Exfoliants.
Whats AHA Exfoliants? Well..After Google searching it is basically a Alpha Hydroxy Acid. It does contain walnuts, but I have no nut allergy so that won't effect me. It also has Jojoba Oil.

Nature's Super Anti-Oxidant Foaming Cleanser
Claims to remove impurities, be gentle on skin and prevent signs of aging.

I'm pretty excited to use these new products. When will I try them? Not sure as I have so much to use! Well not a lot, but enough to last me a few months.

Beauty Collection: Nail Polishes - Neutrals and Blacks

I love neutral nail polishes. They are perfect for the "I don't know what I want to wear this week" situation, which happens to me a lot. But when it comes to nude polishes, its a lot like lipsticks, finding the right shade, which we all have hits and misses with.

Maybelline Color Show Porcelain Party: This is the only white I own, and its okay, quite patchy, I need 3 coats, but its better than what I have tried.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Mudslide 250: I love this shade, but It doesn't look good on me, or so my Mum says. I want to try it again and see if I love or hate it. And if I don't like it, I might just get rid of it.

Covergirl No Shade: This is a nice pink toned bronze I'd call it. I haven't worn it, but I can't wait to.

Essie Mini No Shade: This shade reminds me of a Chinchilla. Why? I don't know. So if I were to name it, I'd call it Chinchilla. But I have this on my nails (Which are chipped) and I love it. Its a purple toned grey, or grey toned purple. Depends on what light you look at it in.

Butter London Tea and Toast: My only BL product I own and I want more. The formula is amazing and it lasts. The colour is weird, like a.....a toast colour....wow thats the only way to describe it...weird.

Loreal 617: I don't wear this alot, but I like the formula.

Jacqueline Burchell PHD In Retail: I always forget I have this! Its so nice though. I got this in a BellaBox over a year ago.

Essie Eternal Optimist: My favourite nude. It looks great on me.

Essie Penny Talk: A Gold Toned Bronze.

MAC No Shade: I'd call this Camel cause it reminds me of one. I don't like the colour on me though so I'll probably get rid of it.

I have a ton of blacks I know. But like white, its hard to find the perfect black!

Covergirl No Shade: I haven't tried this yet. But I think this has tiny shimmers in it.

Rimmel I Heart Lasting Finish 080 Black Cab: This is patchy, I'll probably get rid of it soon.

Sally Hansen Xtreme Nails Black Out: Best black I have found so far.

Chanel Graphite: I might put this on my toesies tonight. Its a silvery, grey, black.

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Celeb City: Whenever anyone wants a nice silver I recommend this, its stunning. So opaque, and it actually lasts.

Why I Will Not Be Making Another Purchase from ColourPop

Well. This is a pretty sad post.

I went to make another ColourPop order last week, because it will not get here until the end of the month and it would have been a gift to myself for not purchasing makeup for a whole month, and I got one item in my cart. It was a highlighter, and I was curious on shipping. So i went and calculated it. Heres what I got....

Now lets calculate that into AUD

$35.47 Australian Dollars.

Like I love ColourPop - A hell of a lot.

But with my current money situation (I'm on a pension and have no paid job) I cannot afford to splurge that much. I don't even spend that much on clothes.

Like I UNDERSTAND why it costs so much. They are charging the full shipping fee. If it was $15 or $10 flat rate shipping worldwide I'd probably purchase.

But they ship on weight + how much it will cost them to ship it.

And with that. I have to say I can no longer afford to buy from them. Unless there is a free shipping coupon code, or they change this. Or I all of a sudden have the money to spare. But at this stage, its not possible.

So yeah. It saddens me to do this, but I can't. I'd rather have a roof over my head, and food in my stomach, and have a healthy life than sacrifice my money for things I don't really need.

Lust Have It! February Review

This Months Bag, in my opinion. I felt wasn't the greatest. I feel it was filled with samples. Even though it came with some pretty good full sized products, I just feel it could be better.

The bag this month was a different colour too. Same bag, just in red. Which I think they may have done this because of Valentines Day? I can't think of another reason why.

First sample I got was of something I do not need. Shampoo and Conditioner Samples. I have soooo many, I by that I mean there is a drawer in my bathroom vanity filled to the top of samples. Its insane. I probably won't use this as I get a dry and itchy scalp and this isn't suited for those hair types.
Full Size Retails For $5.95

Another sample. This time of The Body Shop's Italian Summer Fig Eau De Toilette. I got this last year in their advent calender and I did not like it one bit. So I'll be passing this along. (AKA Selling this at our Market on the weekend)
Full Size Retails For $36.95

Another Body Shop product is actually something I'm excited for. Its the Vitamin E Moisture Cream and I'm currently using the Vitamin E Night Cream and I'm liking it so far, so I'm assuming this is probably going to be the same.
Full Size Retails For $24.95

I think this bag must of been a collaboration with The Body Shop as there are so many products from them in this bag. All samples though which is pretty sad in my opinion, I'm not a huge fan of samples, because they clutter my collection. But I will use the ones I got in this bag for sure. This product is the Oils Of Life - Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil. And I'm so excited to use this, but I probably wouldn't buy it in full size unless its mind-blowing.
Full Size Retails For $54.95

Finally a Be A Bombshell Product I can actually use. I ended up getting rid of the quad I got a while ago cause to be honest, I'm not going to wear a purple smokey eye on a daily basis. This is their Mascara in the shade Nightfall which is a black. I thought it was going to be a Navy because of the name but its not. I like the packaging too. Its simple and cute.
Retails For $21

This product I decided I'm personally not going to use. Mainly because I don't use hand creams, but also because Mothers Day and my Mum's Birthday is coming up. This hand cream seems really nice though, and the packaging is super cute too.
Retails For $22.95

This product I'm probably most excited for. Its a Mellow Blush in the shade Bronze. And because its actually matte, it would make the perfect bronzing shade, blush shade or eyeshadow shade. Multi-Purpose Oh Yeah! In the swatch I used a pretty heavy...finger to get the shade and as you can see its not a heavy colour Pay-Off which, for someone like me (Who is pale as crap) is quite nice. I can't wait to use this. Might do a look of the day on my blog using what I have. I haven't done one of those before I don't think.
Retails For $14

Beauty Collection: Nail Polishes Part 1 - Top/Base Coats and Glitters

Well, Lets start off with what I have most of. Nail Polishes. I don't know how many I own, and I don't want to know!

I'm seperating this into 3, maybe 4 categories because theres a limit to what I can type in each post and I'm intending on doing mini reviews on my nail polishes too, unless I have done one in the past then I will attatch a link. But lets start off with the base of nail polishes. The Top Coats, Base Coats and Glitters. Even though a glitter isn't a base....oh well.

Top/Base Coats

I have a few, but 98% of these are Top Coats and, the others are just either a Base Coat or a Glitter Base. Let me tell you what I have. (In No Order)

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Cleared for Take Off: I haven't used this, But I plan on using it as a base coat when I run out of the one I'm currently using.

Rimmel Finishin Touch Glitter Top Coat: This one is so pretty. If you want that little bit of glitter on your nails but not whole chunks, its perfect. The glitters are fine and, pretty much see through, there might be a silver reflective from it but thats it. So it goes with anything.

Maybelline Dr. Rescue CC Nails Base Coat: HOLY GRAIL. Only one I have ever tried and I love it. I do want to try more though, but this one is just, its impressed me from the get go. It dries fast, in like 1 minute, theres no colour, and the shade you put on top just seems to glide on!

Picture Polish Glitter Base: I have to do some research on this because I don't know if its for glitter, glitter or glitter polish. I basically bought it second hand for 50c and I know it retails for a lot more.

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat: This one is pretty good. Makes my polish last for up to 3 days, even though it claims to last longer, but whatever. Nothing is going to beat professional nails

Essence Gel Look Top Coat XXXL Shine: For Essence, this is actually really good. I quite like this for the price, even though it does take forever to dry.

Essence Gel Look Plumping Top Coat XXXL Volume: I don't know the difference between the both really. I just think the shine one is more glossy.

Rimmel Super Gel Top Coat: This is basically the same as the SH one, just a different brand. I did a review on it here.

For glitters, I recently got rid of a lot, as they just, go all funny after a while. I need a silver and gold, thats what I want but I haven't found one yet...

Australis Rio Riot: I haven't used this in quite a while. Its a nice glitter, but I don't use it all too often. I should get rid of it if I don't use it, I know but then I have days where I want to use it.

Dior Addict 010: I don't ever use this, I just keep it cause its Dior. Its a nice glitter though, very fine.

Nubar Petunia Sparkle: I wore this the other week and it is such a nice glitter. The glitters are fine, but it comes out with a ton so you don't have to keep dipping in and getting more.

OPI Polka.Com: I love this glitter, but hate the formula, you have to shake the crap out of this because the glitters just seem to float straight to the bottom.

Face of Australia Dark Side Voldemort: Basically had to buy it because of the name. But I do use this, its a nice glitter.

February Favorites

This month was a month of trying new products, and I'm still trying to get to know these products so I honestly don't have very many. I only have 6, but most of them are random favorites so.

I apologise there are no photos in this post, I've been so busy scheduling posts all day and I have to schedule my youtube videos and edit them for this week too, so I don't have much time to spare. But I do have reviews coming on these products mentioned.

Makeup Favorites

I fell in LOVE with the Maybelline Fit me Matte and Poreless Foundation. Its amazing, the only downfall is that the shade is wrong, and I have the second lightest shade available in Australia. Our shade range isn't that great. But I'm thinking of buying the shade I need, which I believe is 112 off eBay. But I'm not going to go into full detail as to why I love this foundation because, well a review is coming. All I can say is though, don't put it off if you want to try it. (Like I did) Its worth it.

I discovered Rose Hip Oil this month. I'm currently using the one by Triolgy because Shaaanxo Uses it (Also, her palette, another favorite even though I don't own it, I need it.) And I honestly love it. It reduces my redness when I use it, and my skin is beginning to look a lot better. I also have a review coming on this too so keep an eye out!

Music Favorites

I love listening to my playlist on Spotify, and I usually blast channel [V] While applying my makeup (Unfortunatley that won't happen any more because Foxtel is getting rid of the channel, which sucks!) And I recently decided to listen to Melanie Martinez, and honestly, she is the cutest thing ever. She's stinking adorable, has a cute voice, and from little clips of her I have seen floating on the internet, I kinda want to give her a huge hug, and steal her fashion. I'm probably obsessed with the song 'Alphabet Boy' at the moment as it keeps playing on my playlist, but I don't mind!

Another band I've recently got back into is a band which reminds me of my teen years. Good ol' Panic! At The Disco. Who remember's singing along to "I'd chime in with, haven't you people ever heard of, closing the God Damn door?" Oh memories. Well, they, or he, as most or the band members apart from Brendon - lead singer, have left the band - just came out with a new album called Death of A Bachelor and its amazing. Favorite song would have to be 'Don't Threaten Me With A Good Time" or maybe "Emperors New Clothes" I can't decide.

YouTube Channels

I'm ALWAYS watching YouTube, Normally when I'm lying in bed, I watch it on my phone, eat ice cream with choc top, and a cat (Living the life.) and watch videos. But this past month I have been obsessed with these two channels.

ThatGirlShaeXO - Shae's channel is what I want my channel to be. Her channel is amazing. I love it. I watch like 5 videos before I sleep its crazy. She also replied to me on instagram this month which was sweet.

ShaaanxoVlogs - I always watch Shannon's vlogs but this week they've been so interesting. Especially the fact that shes coming out with her palette, BH Cosmetics are incredible, I had a palette but got rid of it as I didn't use it but their shadows are amazing.
